Texmas!

Mikey and I hosted Texmas this year. Last year, we went to III Forks and spent way too much money drinking $20 glasses of wine while playing games on our phone, so this year we tried the Private Chef route. Since it was our idea and it was easiest for us to have the kids sleepover at Grammy & Grampy's, we volunteered to host. There happened to be a Chef in our neighborhood that was on Master Chef and she does dinners like the one we were planning. The girls and I planned the menu ahead of time.

Mom came up to help me with the table. We had so much fun doing it together and we make a great team!

It turned out very pretty!

As people arrived, we mingled and enjoyed Cherve Filled Mushrooms and Sausage Balls with Canjun Mayo while the Chef prepared our dinner.

Once the salads were on table, we sat down to eat.

Cheers!

Our salad had greens, cranberries and candied pecans with a Dijon white wine vinaigrette in a Parmesan cheese bowl.

For the main course we chose Beef Tenderloin which was the dish she made on Master Chef. It was filled with mushroom/leek/hatch green chili stuffing and drizzled with a port cream sauce. For sides, we had sauteed green beans with caramelized onions, mashed potatoes and The Porch Mac n Cheese. It was all delicious!

This Double Chocolate Fudge Cake with Mocha Mouse and Raspberry Filling was amazing!!

After dinner, we took some pictures.

We spent the rest of the evening talking and playing Cards Against Humanity. We had an absolute blast!

The next morning, I was thinking about the Chef option. The food was amazing, but of course we paid for a gourmet 4 course meal. I had so much fun the night before that I was thinking that I would be happy ordering pizza and doing game night. I truly enjoy being at a house and playing games and enjoying everyone's company versus sitting at a table in a restaurant. While others prefer nice food and/or a nice restaurant during a night out. We are all different and have different preferences so we decided as a group that we will just try something different each year to keep everyone happy. We shall see what next year brings!
