It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I know, it isn't even Thanksgiving yet, but there is already Christmas music playing on the radio and we kicked off the holiday season with a family picture. After church on Sunday, we met Mikey's parents and sister for lunch and then we went up to their amenities center to take a family picture for their Christmas cards. Since we were all dressed up, we had them take some pictures of the 3 of us also. Since we don't send out Christmas cards (we send New Year's cards), I figure we could go ahead and share these pictures =).

We are going to continue to kick of the Christmas season this weekend. If the weather isn't too cold on Friday, we are going to take Kiley to the Christmas Tree Lighting in Downtown Dallas and Saturday night we have our first girls Christmas party of the season!

12 Month Check Up

On Thursday, we took Kiley to her 12 month checkup.

We were noticing on Wednesday night that she wasn't acting like herself and she woke up Thursday morning with a runny nose. The first one she has ever had. I was so glad we were going to the doctor Thursday afternoon, especially with all of this swine flu going around.

Kiley weighs 17 pounds 15 ounces and is 27 inches long.

Dr. Nale gave her a full physical exam and everything looked good except her runny nose and two ear infections. She has a cold and the fluid in her nose and throat caused her to get an ear infection in each ear. She got two booster shots, the regular flu shot and the H1N1 flu shot. So a cold, two ear infections, 4 shots and 1 prescription later, her 12 month checkup was complete.

Unfortunately, she is too young for any cold medicine, so she has successfully spread it to Mikey and I. We are fighting it with medication and seem to be doing a good job. Hopefully we will all be better very soon!

We also got the go ahead to take her off of formula and start giving her whole milk. She doesn't like the taste of milk, so I will be transitioning slowly. Once she is completely on whole milk, she will no longer be eating or drinking any special "baby" food. She is such a big girl.

Camo Girl

Last Wednesday night, we went to dinner at the Belvin's. For her birthday, they got her this adorable camo outfit with accessories. We thought it would be fun to dress her up for dinner.

The Guys put the accessories on her and took some pictures.

Katie and I had no part in this.

Good girl not to smile Kiley, we don't like guns.

She wasn't in a great mood and we found out why the next day.

Stay tuned for her 12 month check up blog.

Kiley's Birthday Celebration Continues

I can't believe a year ago, we were all up at the hospital waiting to meet Kiley for the first time. It was so neat re-living every single moment of the day. I thank God every day for our little Miracle. One year ago.....

One year later....

On Kiley's birthday, she made her first TV appearance!!

We invited both families over to celebrate Kiley's actual birthday. The dinner table.

Dinner Time. We had leftovers from the party. They were still super yummy!

We had to get one more wear out of her birthday outfit.

Kiley was very talkative during dinner.

Kiley sat in her swing while Mommy opened presents. It was getting close to bedtime. Isn't her new purse adorable? Thanks Nonie.

Mycah got Kiley a cute little bubble skirt.

Our family celebration was so much fun. Thanks to Grammy, Grampy, Katie, Marmee, Guy and Mycah for making Kiley's Birthday dinner a very special celebration.

The 3 of us

After presents, I wanted to get a picture of all the kids in their Ears. This went way better than Halloween. We are missing Addie in the picture. The poor thing, the party was during her naptime, so she was pretty tired. She was such a good girl and I am so glad we have other pictures of Addie, we love you! Here is the best picture we got. Bella, Kai, Kiley, Kyston, Dylan, and Kolston.

After the picture, it was time for cake. At this point she was getting pretty tired, but she was such a trooper. She didn't cry once all day. She wasn't quite sure what to do with it.

I don't think she really liked the icing too much. Good girl Kiley, stay away from that sugar.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful gifts and most of all, being with us to celebrate Kiley's first birthday. You mean so much to us and we are blessed to have you in our lives. A few pictures of the guests...
