Our Beach Vacation!

So I have been dying to go to the beach lately and my wonderful husband made all of my dreams come true. Last weekend, he took me to the beach. We enjoyed lunch on the beach followed by champagne and a wonderful day in the sun listening to the waves and wading in the warm salt water. We even saw dolphins swim by! I know, you are so jealous right now. My husband is the most romantic husband on earth. Well, I think so, but let me tell you what really went down.

As you saw on my last post, we went down to Houston for Ashley and Thomas' wedding. We didn't bring Kiley so we decided to maximize our weekend away. We got up early Saturday morning and drove down to Galveston to spend the day since the wedding wasn't until 730pm.

When we were driving into Galveston, we noticed the devastation of Hurricane Ike. All of the trees were dead and a lot of the buildings were still boarded up. Galveston didn't get the publicity that New Orleans did with Katrina, but it was really hit bad. They told us it looked great compared to a year ago. It was very sad to see.

So our beach vacation wasn't exactly the Carribean, Hawaii, or Fiji, but we had a lot of fun. We made a memory that I know we will look back in 20 years and still remember. I love you honey and I enjoyed our weekend vacation!

Ashley is married!

My friend Ashley finally married her long time sweetheart, Thomas, this weekend. Before the wedding, comes the Bachelorette Party and that is where I will start. A couple weekends ago I went down to Austin for Ashley's Bachelorette Party. The Bride to Be.

There were about 15 girls and we all rented a house with a pool. We spent the days by the pool and went out in downtown Austin on Saturday night. We were being pretty silly on Friday night after spending the whole day by the pool.

Ashley married one of Mikey's Fraternity Brothers. It was so much fun seeing some of the guys that we hadn't seen in years. There were a lot of old stories and a lot of catching up.

We are so happy for Ashley and Thomas. They make such a cute couple and their love story is so sweet. We wish you guys all the best in your marriage!

Kiley has finally decided that she likes to sit on the floor like a big girl and play with her toys....that is when her hands aren't in her mouth.
She is still working on those teeth.
The other night before bed, I sat Kiley in the blue chair and she looked back at me like, "Hey Mom, what's up? I am just chillin in the big girl chair watching TV with Dad." I couldn't resist the picture.

Last night I put her up on our bed.

She is such a pretty princess even with her hand in her mouth. She has decided that she likes to blink every time she sees the red light on the camera. I have to trick her into not blinking, so needless to say, the pictures with her eyes open are few and far between.

The Draft Party

We had a great Baird Family Fun Weekend. On Friday night, Mikey, Kiley and I went to Brandon and Sara's to watch The Cowboys. We are so excited that football season is finally here! Even though this was a pre-season game, it was a big deal because it was the first game in the new stadium and it looks amazing. We have tickets to go to the A&M Game there in October and we are super excited for the experience. B&S cooked some amazing fajitas for dinner and we had a great time watching the game with them.

Saturday was the infamous draft party. What is a draft party you ask. Well, Mikey has been part of a Fantasy Football League for the last few years and we have so much fun with it. We look forward to Football Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and sometimes Saturdays each week during football season. Having a Fantasy Team makes it so much fun to watch all of the games each week. As most of you know, Football is a big deal in this house. After all, Kiley was born during Monday Night Football! So anyway, this year we hosted the draft party at our house. Seven of the guys came over with their laptops for the draft. Yes, that is Al Pacino on the TV. Mikey had Any Given Sunday playing during the draft to set the mood. Yes, he thinks of everything.
The girls made all of the food and we hung by the pool with the kids while the boys were glued to their laptops in the livingroom. Kiley is in her bathingsuit and lathered with sunscreen ready for pool time.

On Sunday, we had a great Baird Family Fun Day. After church, we put Kiley down for her Morning Nap. I sat outside and read my magazine and Mikey went to hit golf balls. When Mikey came home we decided to go for a walk. We went over to a cool neighborhood and walked along a trail by a creek. It was a fun adventure. After Kiley's lunch, she went down for her afternoon nap. Mikey and I enjoyed some rest and relaxation by the pool. Once Kiley woke up, we made dinner and then watched a movie. After dinner, Daddie took Kiley out by the hot tub to watch the fountain. I took this adorable picture of them. They are definitely Father/Daughter!! They are so adorable. I love them so much!

Patty Cake!

Kiley has recently been trying to escape from her Bumbo. As most of you know, her Bumbo is my FAVORITE thing and it will be a sad day when we can't put her in it anymore. So in order to distract her from her escape antics, we have been working on Patty Cake. Last night when I was cooking dinner, she started doing it all by herself!

Kiley is 9 months old!!

Kiley's 9 Month Checkup

Kiley had her 9 month checkup today. I can't believe she is almost 9 months old! Everything went well. On our way to her appointment she got to go up to Mommy's work and then Daddie's work. I scheduled this appointment over 6 months ago, so I had no idea that it would be right in the middle of her nap time. She usually goes down around 230pm for her afternoon nap, so we had to keep her busy. She did get a power nap in the waiting room.

As you can see in the picture, she weighs 16 lbs 3 1/2 ounces and she is 26 inches long. Dr. Nale was very pleased with her growth.

She got two shots and they pricked her toe to test her iron which was very good. She didn't even cry when they pricked her toe. As always, she was such a good girl. We are so proud of her and we are very blessed to have a beautiful healthy baby girl.

Brandon's 30th Birthday Party!

On Friday night, Marmee came over to stay with Kiley and Mikey and I went out for Brandon's 30th Birthday. We went to Addison Improv to see Ralphie May and then to Sherlock's. Before we left, we decided to take some pictures...Prom Style.
