Valentine's Day 2014

Our Valentine's Day was pretty laid back this year. Both girls had parties at school. Me and another Mom were in charge of Presley's party. These were the snacks.

I was in charge of the crafts and we made little heart bird feeders out of fruit loops. They turned out really cute and the kids had fun stringing them.

Presley was the first one done. I guess she had a little practice with the one we did at home.

She was also the first one to finish her chocolate pop!

Daddie went to Kiley's Valentine's party!

They made cute little bags to put their valentines in.

Both girls came home with some good stuff!

Mommy and Daddie got the kids a little Valentine's gift.

Bathing suits and hats for the beach!

Bentley was a little slower to open his present.

On Valentine's night, our neighbors came over for the second year in a row. We got the kids a heart shaped pizza. It didn't really look heart shaped once we cooked it. But they enjoyed it. They played and then they went home and all the kids went to bed and Mikey and I cooked out steaks and got in the hot tub. Great Valentine's fun!

Mikey had a conference in Atlanta before Valentine's and he and some of the guys drove and played golf along the way. They stopped at the Duck Dynasty Warehouse.

While Mikey was gone it snowed AGAIN!!

Marmee, Guy and Mycah came to stay the weekend with us and we did a window treatment for Kiley's room. I had been wanting to do this for so long and I finally found material that I loved and between Mom, Dad, Mycah and me, this was the end result. I couldn't be happier with it!

The weather has finally warmed up. We had a Baird family fun night on Saturday. We cooked out and played outside.

And then made popcorn and watched a movie in the media room!

Bentley's Smash Cake Session!

Since we didn't do a big 1st birthday party for Bentley like we did for the girls, I thought it would be fun to do a smash cake session for him. I needed updated pictures of him and I just knew he would tear into the cake and take some great pictures. He loves food, he loves feeding himself, so of course he would love a big cake all to himself, right? Wrong! I purposely didn't feed him too much for lunch so that he would be hungry. He stuck his fingers into the cake and that was enough for him. He lost it. He hardly ever cries and he wouldn't stop crying. And then once he stopped crying, he would break down every time he saw the cake. I could not believe it. I don't like icing either, but I think it is pretty to look at. We finally gave him a ball to distract him and got some ok pictures. This boy is a bit unpredictable! He is still the cutest little boy I have every seen :-).

Bentley is 1 Year Old!

And that is the last of the monthly onesie pictures for the Baird Family. Tear. This year has flown by way too fast! We had a Football themed family celebration on Super Bowl Sunday for Bentley. He didn't waste any time getting into the presents!

He had plenty of help from his sisters.

We had football food too! Bone in and Boneless Wings!

The veggies.

Deviled Eggs and Potato Salad.

Bentley enjoyed his favorite side, mac n cheese of course!

Big Sisters enjoying the birthday dinner.

The birthday boy even helped with the dishes.

Mommy getting the birthday cupcake ready!

Presley helped blow out the candle.

Enjoying his cupcake!

And then not. We learned at his smash cake photo session (pictures to come) that he does not like icing, so that is why there is not any icing on his cupcake. Something still upset him about this whole cake thing!

The whole gang!

More presents! Sorry for the dark pics, I really need a new phone.

Bentley made his television debut! (Look at the temperature!)

He had his one year checkup and did great. He weighs 23 pounds, 1 ounce (76%) and is 30.25 inches long (64%).

My poor baby had to get 4 shots, so Mommy gave in and let him have a sucker. He thought it was the best thing ever. You can see the tears in his eyes :-(.

I have always had the goal to stop nursing at one year. He is such a good nurser and never even bit me. I could have kept on going, but I stayed strong and stopped right before his first birthday. I cut out one feeding each week leading up to his birthday. This was the morning of my last time to nurse him.

I saved some frozen milk just in case he didn't take to whole milk, but he did great. He has been drinking his milk so well, so I finally got the nerve to throwout the rest of my milk. It was almost as hard as it was to stop nursing!

After his first birthday, he upgraded to a big boy car seat and gets to face front! He thinks he is pretty cool!

He is becomming such a big boy! He loves to play outside, but since he isn't walking yet, it makes it hard. He crawls all over the place. We are quickly ruining clothes and shoes! He is in 12 month clothes and size 4 shoe. We are also in size 4 diapers. He has fun playing in the big toys!

He loves to climb and gets very resourceful. We found him in the office like this one day. Apparently, he needed to see something outside. He opened the shutters right up to look out.

We sent this card out to close friends and family to share Bentley's milestone's at one year since we didn't have a big party for him. More smash cake pictures to come!

I just wanted to sum up the first year of Bentley's life and what it has meant to us. God blessed us with a sweet baby boy and we couldn't be happier. He has been such a good baby and so easy to love. He loves to cuddle with his stuffed animals and loves his Mommy. I have learned that with a boy, you just give him some balls to play with and he is perfectly content. He is always happy and can eat more than me! This year has flown by, but we have tried to savour every sweet baby moment he has given us. It is a privelege to be him Mommy and I can't wait to see him grow up (slowly)!
