Today is Wednesday morning, so I have a couple of days to catch up on. It shouldn’t be too long because we are doing a lot of nothing. Monday was a nice day. After breakfast, we stayed by the lake most of the day. I tried to lay on the side of the hill and get some sun on my back, but that didn’t work out so well. I promised I would post a picture of Mikey’s “stone work”. He put stones along the edge of the dock. He says it is to prevent people from falling off…you can judge for yourself. The table and chairs in the picture is where we have coffee every morning. He also did some more fishing, as of yesterday, he is up to 5 bass.
Nonie & Al’s neighbor passed away on Friday. Addie was 99. Her two sons still live next door, so we went over to their house to pay our respects. We had some lunch and visited with the friends and family for a while. They have lived next door to Nonie and Al my whole life. Her sons would take us skiing and jet skiing when we were younger. Mom and Dad were scheduled to come around dinner time so we had been talking to them occasionally throughout the day. They drive up because they spend a month or so up here and it is easier to have a car to go back and forth between all of our relatives up here. They left Texas on Saturday morning. Dad insisted that they stop at each capital building on the way up, but Mom held off from antiquing. We had a quick little storm around 5pm, but we were already up at the big house starting cocktail hour. Mom and Dad arrived right at the end of the storm, just in time for dinner. Nonie made a big turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, 3 bean salad, and potato salad. It was all delicious, just like Thanksgiving. Mikey built us a fire down by the lake where we spent the rest of the evening. We stayed up until 11pm. We are staying up later and later!!Tuesday morning wasn’t as pretty as Monday morning. It was overcast and windy, but we still had our coffee out on the dock. We couldn’t see any fish, but when the sun came out, it was warm. We spent the morning out by the lake. Mikey mowed the lawn for Nonie and it looks great. I had to work, so I was kind of glad the weather wasn’t fantastic. It made it a little easier to be inside.

Once I got my work done, we went for a walk. On the way out, we took pictures of both houses to give you a better idea of how it is laid out. It was windy and overcast most of the day, so it stayed pretty cool. I don’t think it got up to 70. We played cards out on the front porch of the big house during cocktail hour and then had dinner. Brats, Hot Dogs, and homemade mac n cheese. It was yummy. I am not much of a brat fan, so I had a hot dog, but they said the brats were delicious. Nonie boiled them in beer…the best way to do it. After dinner, we came down by the lake for another one of Mikey’s famous fires. It was a cold night, so the fire felt great. Last night we stayed up until 1115pm!So we are back to Wednesday morning and it is gorgeous outside. We have already had our coffee out on the dock and our English Muffins up in the little house. Mikey is back out on the dock fishing and I am sitting by the lake blogging. We are definitely getting into a little vacation routine. Mycah is coming in today. My cousin Heather who lives in Rochester is picking her up and bringing her here tonight. My other cousins Geoff and Ryan are also coming for the night, so we will have a full house tonight. It should be fun.
As for a quick baby update…yesterday we were 21 weeks. More than half way there! This morning while we were having coffee, Mikey said that my stomach is definitely getting bigger, so it looks like, at least from the outside, that Kiley is growing. I THINK I am feeling her kicking. It is lower in my stomach than I thought it would be, but last week in my update it said that the top of my uterus is now at my belly button, so I guess that would make sense. It kind of feels like gas bubbles, but different. Every since the plane ride, I have been having a lot of back pain in the middle of my back if I sit in one place too long. It must be a result of my growing belly. I am getting heavier on the front side. Also, since Nonie won’t be able to come to my shower, she had a shower here for me. She got me and Kiley a couple of books and two little onesies. She made the most gorgeous blanket for Kiley and she found the cutest little stuffed dog that matches it. I took a picture. Besides the monkey we made for Kiley a while back, these are the first things that belong to Kiley!!! We will have to get shopping for her when we get back to start adding to her collection…
