Hot! Hot! Hot!

It is hot, hot, hot outside. We have had 100+ degree temperatures for the past week straight. We have two options: either to be outside and in the pool or inside in the air conditioning. Kiley spends most of the time in her diaper these days.
On Thursday night, we took dinner over to the Moradi's and hung out with Kavon, Anna, Kyston and Kolston. Kolston is a new addition to their family, and is so precious. He was born on June 2nd. Kiley is only 7 1/2 months old and I am actually going to say this. I didn't remember how little newborns are. I can't believe Kiley was that little!

We ate dinner and played with Kyston on his swingset. Kyston is a big help with his little brother. Mikey is a pro at holding little babies now!

On Friday morning, I took Kiley up to Frisco to Grammy & Grampy's house. Katie and I played tennis for a couple of hours and Kiley stayed with Grammy and Grampy. We all ate lunch and then we headed back down to the house so that Mommy could work for a couple of hours.

On Saturday morning, we left to run a quick errand up to the PGA store to look at tennis racquets and we ended up being gone for a few hours. We didn't find anything at the PGA store, so we went over to Dick's to look. I found a new racquet and I absolutely love it! We took Grammy and Katie to lunch and then came home. Mikey and I spent some time out by the pool while Kiley was napping. We went to 5pm Mass. Kiley doesn't really have much of an "inside" voice. She made a couple of "loud" comments at church. Of course it was always when it was quiet and the priest was talking. I told Mikey, we might have to start sitting in the kids room. For dinner, we cooked hamburgers and corn-on-the-cob out on the grill for dinner.

On Sunday morning, we got up early and went to play tennis with my new racquet before it got too hot. We spent the rest of the day working around the house. Do you know that saying, "when it rains, it pours"? Well, that is happening at our house. No, not real rain, unfortunately, but we are going through a phase where everything is breaking. Of course you read a couple of weeks ago, that our car is broken (the back bumper). In addition to that, our kreepy krauler in our pool broke, our mesquito magnet, our blower, and our wine cooler. It seems never-ending. We are taking it day by day to get everything fixed. This weekend, we got a new kreepy krauler ($$) and we did get a lot of other little stuff done around the house. Mikey even cleaned the gutters outside and I cleaned the baseboards inside. We have very few weekends where we don't have things going on and this weekend, we took full advantage.

Kiley loves sitting on the couch and watching movies with Daddie.

Kiley and Daddie being silly.

She gets more and more beautiful every day! As you can see, she has been working on her six pack and her biceps.

Happy Father's Day Daddie!

We had a great Father's Day weekend. Kiley had so much fun bonding with Daddie on his special day.

Let's start from the beginning of the weekend. On Friday night, the 3 of us went to TGI Fridays for dinner. We had a coupon and thought we would give it a try. Neither of us remember ever eating there, but it was fun to get out for dinner.

On Saturday, Daddie spent the day at the lake and Marmee and I took Kiley to Gretchen's surprise brunch at Breadwinners. Gretchen's Mom invited all of the girls and our Moms for a wonderful brunch. The food was great and we had so much fun being together.

On Saturday night, Marmee and Guy came to stay the night with us. Marmee and Mommy were getting ready for Father's Day, so Guy was on Kiley duty.

On Father's Day morning, we had Daddie's "breakfast of champions" ready for him.

The guys played golf in the morning and then we all met up at the Baird's for lunch. Mom and I made Southwest rollups for lunch. Here is a picture of Kiley playing on the couch. She is getting so big and she is so close to sitting up on her own.

After lunch, Mikey, Katie and I played tennis and then we went to the pool. Grammy stayed while Kiley finished her nap and then she came to the pool. Daddie, Kiley and I lounged on the couch and watched golf. I went to take a picture of father and daughter and Kiley decided to show me what was under her dress.

For dinner, Connie made pulled pork and it was delicious. Kiley and Daddie shared some kisses to end the night.

Happy Birthday Lisa!

Yesterday was my Best Friend, Lisa's birthday. She invited all of the girls to her house for dinner.

Lisa made a delicious chicken and strawberries recipe and she had the table set so pretty.
After dinner, it was time for cake. The cake was so pretty and sugar free. Good job Gretch!

Gretchen's Birthday Weekend

My best friend Gretchen turns 30 on Monday, so we planned a surprise weekend for her and it was so much fun. On Friday night, I took Kiley up to Northpark to meet the birthday girl for dinner. She hasn't seen Kiley since her baptism, so a visit was long overdue. We met Gretchen, Hilary and Sara at Kona in Northpark.

It was Kiley's first time to sit in a high chair!

On Saturday morning, we packed up Kiley and the boys and headed South. The plan was for all of the girls to meet at a new restaurant in Cedar Hill for lunch. Gretchen had no idea what she was doing for the entire day. Everything was a surprise. She thought we were going to the lake for the weekend. On the way to the restaurant, we got rear-ended with all of us in the car. Luckily it wasn't too hard. Kiley didn't even know what was going on. The bumper will need to be replaced, but the important thing was that we were all ok. Thank you God. After the fender bender, Mikey, Kiley and the boys dropped me off at the restaurant and they went to Marmee & Guy's to drop Kiley and the dogs off for the night. Gretchen was so surprised to see us at the restaurant waiting for her.

We gave her a dogeared Cherish gold necklace.

After lunch we went next door to Patrizio's for a bellini. They were delicious!

Then we went to get pedicures!

After our pampering, we walked around the new shopping center in Cedar Hill. We popped into the bakery for a quick cupcake.

When we were done shopping, we went back to Gretchen & Ben's where the boys were. They had decorated the house and Ben got Beer & Wine and appetizers. We had been working on a scrapbook for Gretchen for weeks. It was the next big surprise. She loved it!

After hanging out for a while, we got ready for our big night out! Mikey and I were very excited about our night out with everyone.

A picture with me and the birthday girl!

We went to Nick & Sam's Grill for dinner.

Ben had a beautiful cake waiting for dessert.

We ended the day at Tribeca in Uptown.

It was such a special day full of surprises for Gretchen. We love her so much and wish her a year of good health and happiness. Happy Birthday Gretch!

More Pool Time

On Saturday when we got back from Houston, we went to my friend KC's house for a pool party. Her boyfriend Tom, turned 30 this week. Kiley was all decked out for the pool party.

Happy Birthday Tom!

On Sunday after church, we went up to Frisco to visit Grammy & Grampy. We had burgers for lunch and then went to hang by the pool. This is a cute picture of Kiley on the couch in her church outfit.

Kiley by the pool...again!

We set her swing up under the umbrella and she loves it.

Emily's Graduation

On Thursday, we went to Houston for my Cousin, Emily's, High School Graduation. We met Marmee and Guy at their house and left when they got home from work. Kiley did awesome the whole way down there. We stopped half way to get gas and feed her. She slept a little bit, but was perfectly content the whole ride.

We stayed at the Magnolia Hotel in Downtown Houston. We checked in around 9pm. They had put a rollaway bed in the room instead of a crib. They took a while to bring the crib up, but Kiley's wasn't ready for bed anyway. She thought the hotel room was the coolest thing!

When Mom was putting her jammies on, her dress got stuck on her head. When I was little, I used to put tshirts on my head and pretend I had long hair. Kiley is already acting like Mommy!

Since we got in so late, we stayed in and ordered room service for dinner. The crib finally came and Kiley fell right to sleep.

On Friday morning, we got up early for the 9am graduation ceremony. It was at the new Toyota Center where the Houston Rockets play. I had to take a picture on the jumbo tron to get a closeup of Emily getting her diploma.

A picture of us with the graduate.

We went to lunch at a restaurant downtown called Cabo and then went back to our hotel room. We made Emily a scrapbook for graduation. She loved it. Here is a picture of Emily & Kiley. There was way too much going on for Kiley to pay attention to the camera.

On Friday night we went to dinner at a little Italian place down the street from our hotel. We packed Kiley up in her stroller and walked over. The weather was perfect. It wasn't humid at all. We sat outside and watched people walk to the Astros game. Guy & Kiley people watching.

When we got back to the hotel, we took Kiley up to the rooftop pool for her last feeding while guy went swimming. I took a picture of the Astro Game.

As soon as we got back down to our room, we heard fireworks and looked out the window. If only we had stayed up there a little longer, we would have had our own fireworks show!

Saturday morning after breakfast, we drove home for another busy weekend. Kiley was a trooper the whole way! She loves roadtrips.
