Another busy weekend for the Bairds

On Friday Night, we had Mikey's Annual Awards Banquet for his work. We were supposed to have it at a place up in Plano, but it went out of business at the last minute and it ended up being at the Scottish Rite Cathedral downtown. It was a very neat place. Marmee came to stay with Kiley for our night out. We went to Michael and Katie Belvin's place in Uptown for drinks before and then arrived at the banquet around 7pm. Dinner was delicious. We had shrimp for an appetizer and the salad was good too. The main course was steak, asparagus and rice. It was very good, but a very small portion. We skipped dessert as usual, but it looked good. This year's theme was an Idol theme. We dressed up in Hollywood Cocktail Attire (whatever that is) and they had different Idol performances. It was very entertaining. Some of the agents and staff had some hidden talents that we didn't know about. They also had film of some Idol Rejects. It was very entertaining. Here are a few pictures from the night.

A picture of me and the beautiful Mrs. Sara Rhine.

Mikey and his assistant, Ana. She is such an asset to his business and he couldn't survive the day without her. We love you Ana!

Saturday was a great day. We did absolutely nothing except lay on the couch and watch movies. All 3 of us! We couldn't remember when the last time we had a lazy day like this. We loved every second. On Saturday night, Uncle Ben and Aunt Gretchen came by and ended up staying for dinner and movies. We had their favorite, Jakes Hamburgers for dinner and then we had a movie marathon. It was a nice surprise and so much fun!
Daddie and Kiley watching a movie.

Sunday we had a big day planned. We had church in the morning and then our friends, Jason and Kelli Trent had a 30th Birthday Party for Jason at their house. Kiley was so good at church. She was wide awake all day. She was awake all morning in between feedings, so I thought for sure she would sleep through church. Nope, she was wide awake the whole time. When everything got quiet, she decided to sneeze, and got the attention of the whole pew. Then a couple minutes later, she went to sneeze again. Of course the whole pew looked over again, but this time it was a fake-out. It was so adorable and she had the whole pew laughing in the middle of the service. It was too funny...probably one of those had to be there moments, but if you have seen her fake out sneezes, they are adorable.

Kiley all ready for her big day!

Another picture of Kiley.

I can never pick just one favorite.

After church we came home for another feeding and got some chores done and then headed over to Jason and Kelli's. They had some delicious BBQ catered, and it was fun to spend time with everyone. Most of the people there were friends from my first job out of college. It was so much fun to catch up with everyone and find out what they are doing now.Kiley was passed around from friend to friend and she enjoyed every second of it. She got a small nap in, but again, was awake most of the time. After the party, we came home and watched the Grammy's as a family. It was a pretty good show this year!

Kiley is three months tomorrow, so we will have a mid week blog of her 3 month pictures!!

Busy Weekend with Mommy!

While Mikey was in Vail, Kiley and I had a very busy weekend. We left on Friday to spend the weekend with Marmee and her husband (Dad still hasn't decided on a name for Kiley to call him).

We had salad and pizza for dinner and Aunt M spent the night too!

Marmee holding Kiley. We can tell it is Marmee because she is wearing her bracelet that Mikey made her.

Kiley had fun watching golf with the guy that lives with Marmee.

Kiley is now holding her bottle up by herself. Now that she can feed herself, we just need to teach her to change her own diapers. This parenting thing is easy.

On Saturday I took Kiley to her first birthday party. My friend Lisa's little girl, Addison, turned One!

Kiley dressed up in her party dress for Addie's big day.

Addie LOVED her birthday cake!

My turn with the birthday girl!

Kiley had fun hanging with the girls.

On Sunday, Kiley stayed with Mom and Dad while I went to Gretchen and Ben's for the Super Bowl. Gretchen made tons of delicious food. Everything was so pretty and perfect! It was nice to get out by myself for a few hours and it looks like they had fun while I was out.

Time for a new outfit.

On Monday, we had a girls day out. Stacy, her sister Annette, Shannon, Kiley and I all met for lunch at On the Border and then we got mani and pedi's. Kiley was such a good girl all day.

She took a short nap at lunch and then sat in my lap while I got my pedicure. Aunt Shannon held her while I got my manicure. She went 4 hours between her two feedings while we were out. She is getting to be such a big girl!

On Monday night, we took Kiley to a party at Stacy's apartment. Mikey met us there when his flight got in. We did an Italian theme with the food and everything turned out great. Kiley wore her pretty red dress and was a very good girl. We were all exhausted from a long weekend and came home and went right to bed. Kiley slept from 11pm until almost 9am this morning without a feeding in between. It was so nice for us all to get some rest!

Date Night with Daddie

Next weekend Mikey is going snowboarding with the guys, so I took advantage and went out on Saturday night. Kiley had a date night with Daddie. Uncle Brandon came over and they had dinner and watched movies with Kiley. I went to dinner with the girls. It was fun to get out of the house and have some "me" time. I also went and got a facial on Sunday after church.

Kiley helped Daddie pack for his trip. She is just chillin in the bindings of his snowboard.

Daddie had to take over Kiley's evening feeding duty when I was out. Kiley has been taking a bottle of formula every night and is sleeping a lot longer!

These are a couple pictures that we took of Kiley this weekend. She has such a pretty smile.

She loves her Baby Einstein Gym. She doesn't like to just lay in her bouncy or swing anymore. She needs some brain stimulation to keep her occupied. She loves holding the birdie in her hand.

Yes, Nonie, I know her legs aren't covered. It was 80 degrees outside that day. I promise she was warm enough.

Kiley's Big Day

Kiley had a big day today! She started by watching history be made. We watched President Obama's Inauguration all morning and afternoon. I know she isn't old enough to understand, but I will be able to tell her that she was part of it when she gets older.

Kiley watching the Inauguration.

Today was also Kiley's two month checkup. It went very well. She weighs 9lbs 10oz and is 21.5 inches long, both in the 25 percentile. Dr. Nale was very happy with her growth. He checked all of her knooks and crannies and she looks great! Unfortunately she had to get two shots, but she was a trooper. We have a very tough girl.

Daddie entertaining Kiley while she waited for Dr. Nale.

We got some cute pictures of her in her diaper while we were waiting.

She was all smiles.

Here is a close up. She was so patient.

Getting her ears checked.

Kiley, say aahhh.

Kiley showed Dr. Nale how she likes to stand up.

Look at the big girl!

She fell asleep in Daddie's arms before the shot lady came.

After her appointment, Kiley got to go to Daddie's work so that Daddie could show her off to his coworkers. She was a very good girl and loved all of the attention. You can see that Daddie has her picture on his wallpaper on his computer. I can't believe he can get any work done with that cute face staring at him.

Kiley's day got even bigger as I started this blog. We got home from Mikey's work and I went to let the dogs out and our backyard was filled with smoke. A house on our alley about 4 houses down caught on fire. It was very scary. The wind was blowing towards our house and the streets were filled with smoke. There were tons of fire trucks and emergency vehicles. Apparently people chase these things and there were tons of cars and people on our street watching the house burn. There were also news helicopters flying around. It was quite a scene and very scary. I don't think anyone was living in the house. They were in the middle of a remodel. Here are some pictures.

Here is a closeup of the back fo the house where the fire was the worst.

This is the front of the house.

You can see all of the people watching.

Our weekend

With Kiley getting a little bit older, our lives are starting to get a little back to normal. We had a fun weekend. Friday after work, Marmee came by to visit Kiley. Then I made homemade pizza for dinner and we watched movies. Every once in a while, our cable provider gives us access to all of the movie channels for the weekend. This was one of those weekends. Mikey gets super excited and Tivos a bunch of them.

On Saturday, we hung around the house. Mikey cooked BBQ chicken on the grill and it was delicious. Kiley got a bath and then I took a shower and we got ready for Mikey to take us out to dinner for Baird date night. We went to Blue Goose and it was delicious. Kiley was such a good girl. She stayed awake while we waited at the bar to be seated. She loved all of the lights and the people. Her brain was probably going a mile a minute. Once we were seated, she fell asleep and let Mommy and Daddie enjoy a great dinner. It was so nice to get out of the house and enjoy the night. It was a big step for us in parenthood.

On Sunday morning, we went to church. This time we sat with the rest of the congregation instead of sitting in the baby room where we sat with her on Christmas Eve with people coughing everywhere. She stayed awake the whole Mass and she was such a good girl. I think she enjoys all of the music. After lunch, Mikey went to play tennis and I took Kiley for a walk. We try to take advantage of these nice days and get some exercise.

We had a great weekend, complete with a night out and church on Sunday. Our lives are starting to feel a little normal again. We are so thankful to have such a good girl that we can take out. Her 2 month checkup is on Tuesday!! Here are some pictures of our weekend.

Boo and Buddy enjoying the beautiful weather outside. Aren't they handsome boys!!

Kiley with her favorite rattle. We are working with her to hold it by herself. She let go and it slid down her arm before I could get a picture.
