Summer Road Trip: First Stop!

We finished off our Summer with a two week road trip. Part 1 - Home to St. Louis, Missouri: 617.7 miles/9 hours 36 minutes.

Our first stop was St. Louis, Missouri. We visited our friend Nikki and stayed with her in her loft downtown. This was our first view of the arch.

We arrived Friday evening which was Nikki's birthday!

Nikki's boyfriend Neil grilled steaks to celebrate. Dinner was delicious!

We had to get a little creative with the sleeping arrangements since she lives in a loft downtown. It worked out great!

On Saturday morning, we got ready and went to Grant's farm. Ulysses S. Grant's father in law gave him money and he built his wife a farm. First we got to see the Budweiser Clydesdales.

After the clydesdales, we got on a tram and toured the farm.

When we got off the tram, we got to interact with the animals.

At the end of the tour Anheiser Bush gave out 2 free beers!!

Back to the car...

After we left Grant's Farm, we went to lunch downtown. Bentley needed a snooze on the way.

After lunch, we went to an observation deck where you can take pictures with downtown and the arch in the background.

Not sure who this man was...

We took advantage of the background and took some fun pictures!

Then we went to see the arch in person.

Sunday morning breakfast!

We made Aunt Nikki a coffee mug for her birthday.

Later that day, we met Nikki's parents for lunch at a popular BBQ place.

After lunch, we headed over the the World's Fair Grounds. I grew up watching the movie, Meet Me in St. Louis, so I was so excited! We walked around the grounds and it was all so beautiful.

We drove around St. Louis and then went back to Nikki's place. Her parents came over and brought Nikki a birthday cake. We sang Happy Birthday and then Maddie and Les watched the kids while we went to a nice dinner just the 4 of us. Of course we didn't take a single picture when we were all dressed up.

We made Maddie and Les coffee mugs too!

Thanks to the Crawford's we had a blast in St. Louis!
