Final Stop: Nashville

On our 4th leg of the trip, we drove 12 hours and 4 minutes (805 miles) to Nashville, Tennessee.

This was the one and only leg that I slept on!

It was a long drive, but we made it! We had a nice two bedroom condo. This was the first time that Mikey and I slept in the Master together and the kids all shared a room! Since we got in late, we ordered pizza for dinner.

The next morning Mikey let me sleep in and he took the kids to check out the property. The flowers on the guitar were real!

We went grocery shopping and then we went to check out downtown Nashville.

We had lunch at a place with live music because that is what you do in Nashville. Kiley loved the live music.

Then we walked around and checked out downtown...

It was pretty hot, so we decided to take the kids back to the condo to go swimming. I had them take another picture by the guitar...one where they aren't in their PJs.

We spent our last full day of vacation laying low. The kids swam and Mikey took Bentley to go see General Lee.

They checked out a bar next door.

We decided to go back there as a family and have dinner and listen to music. Presley and Bentley weren't really into the sitting, drinking beer and listening to live music, so we bribed them with Shirley Temples.

After two weeks of traveling, we decided to lay low in Nashville. We figured we will go back without the kids to enjoy more beer and live music. We did tell the kids they could take as many baths as they wanted in the condo so they took full advantage.

Most of the time when we travel, we are with family or going to see family. Our Nashville stop was a little mini vacation for just the 5 of us. We didn't have any plans and just did what we wanted. The kids loved having their own room in the condo. We cooked breakfast in the mornings and I made Frito Pie for dinner one night. We got up and around on Thursday and headed home. We drove 10 hours and 11 minutes (678.4 miles) back home. When we pulled in the driveway, Mikey looked at the settings on the truck and we drove 3200 miles, spent 58 hours in the car and used 185 gallons of gas over 2 weeks. Now that is a road trip!
