New York 2014

We went to Upstate New York for 3 weeks this summer! We had two cousins getting married so we did a lot of celebrating!

Grammy & Grampy dropped us and all of our "baggage" off at the aiport first thing in the morning!

The kids did pretty well on the flights. It helped having Mom, Dad and Mycah with us to help! Bentley finally fell asleep for about 30 minutes on the second flight.

All of our luggage successfully made it to New York!

We arrived on Friday and on Saturday morning, we hit the ground running! Mikey left for a Bachelor Party. These are the only pictures that were taken....and they were gone from 9am until almost midnight!!

That afternoon, Mom, Mycah and I took the kids to my cousin, Heather's bridal shower.

After the bridal shower, all of the girls started gathering at my Aunt Karen's house for my cousin, Hannah's bachelorette party!

Thanks to Mom and Aunt Lisa for staying with the kids. We took these pictures of the kids before we left. This is 5 out of the 7 great grandchildren.

Bentley quickly learned how to climb up on the ledge.

We rented a party bus for the bachelorette party!

Family! Me, Aunt Karen, Alanna, Molly, Hannah, Mycah, Haley and Aunt Kathy

Most of the time we were up in New York we stayed in this Cottage on the Lake.

It was owned by the guy who invented the super soaker.

There were two docks and a stream that ran down the side of the house. At the bottom of it, the kids had their own personal kiddie pool.

Sweet Cousins!

The girls had so much fun together!

My cousin, Hannah's wedding was in her parent's back yard, but their back yard isn't any ordinary back yard. Bentley got to ride on the tractor with Uncle Paul to help get the back yard ready before the tent came.

The tent was huge. They had over 300 guests!

One night we were all up late, and the wedding photographer was over taking some pictures. He could do this cool thing with his camera where you took a glow stick and wrote something in the air backwards and then he put Hannah's picture in the middle of it. They were playing around with the word "Love" for the wedding. Mikey wanted to try it. This is at like 2am. He got up and started waving the glow stick around and jumping around. Everyone thought he was just playing around and then this is how the picture turned out. He spelled his name backwards and everything!!

A day or two before Hannah's wedding, we were all super busy helping to get ready for the big event. We were back and forth from my Aunt and Uncle's house and Grandma's house. We have a big family and there were always 20+ of us at one time. There was a point where I thought Mikey had Bentley and he thought I did. We looked everywhere for him and Mikey finally found him like this. In Uncle Paul's garage on the tractor happy as can be!

My Uncle built a big dance floor in the tent. After the rehearsal, we all hung out and got some more use out of the tent and the dance floor!

After the rehearsal dinner (July 4th) we went out to the cottage where Mikey and the boys set off some fireworks.

Mikey helped direct the cars for the wedding and took these pictures. It was hard to imagine how many cars would need to be parked for 300 guests. They did a good job.

I am waiting on some watermarked pics of the wedding from the photographer and will post when I get them!

The Sunday after Hannah and Preston's wedding, Mom and I had to take Kiley to Urgent Care. She had a rash covering her body from head to toe. My Aunt Karen took care of Presley and Bentley and then we all met at a restaurant for an early dinner. Everyone was already there when we got there. They were sitting out on the patio and there was a live band. Aunt Karen had dressed Bentley and put his hat on. He was up dancing and the band asked him to come play the drums. He was the hit of the show.

There was a big waterfall at the top of the stream by our cottage. We took the girls up there one day while Bentley was napping.

Dad and Mikey golfed 3 or 4 times.....

I guess this is what you call a golf selfie!

The kids having lunch at the lake one day!

The next week was the week of my Cousin, Heather's wedding which I was matron of honor so I had a lot of responsibilities! We met at the church to plan out all of the details and also at the winery where the reception was going to be.

I made 4 of these wreaths. We added lace to them too.

Mikey, Guy and the kids spent the time at the lake. Luckily they had a lot of family to help with the kids! Yes, my Cousin, Hannah is awesome!! Newly married and she is spending time with my kids. Love her!!

The Thursday before Heather's wedding, Mom, Aunt Pat and I hosted a girls day for her. We all met at a salon and got mani's and pedi's and then we went to this beautiful restaurant called The Esperanza. It is on a bluff of one of the finger lakes and the view is absolutely breathtaking!

With the bride.

3 generations!

The next morning, all of the ladies met at the church to do the flowers. Heather ordered them wholesale and we did all of the arrangements for the church, all of the centerpieces for the reception and the bouquets and boutineers! We made a great team and they all turned out beautiful! I have to say, it was pretty fun to make my own bouquet!

If you asked Mikey, he took care of the kids the whole trip....When we were working on the flowers, my Aunt Karen sent me this picture of the kids playing in the coolers.

I asked where Daddie was and she sent me this picture.

This was another picture I got from Aunt Karen while doing wedding stuff. She asked what kind of rash I thought this was...

The night before the wedding, we had the rehearsal at the church and then had a beautiful rehearsal dinner overlooking the lake. This was a kid free wedding, so the rehearsal was kid free too!

The morning of the wedding, Mom and I took all of the centerpieces and bouquets to the winery where we were also spending the day getting ready. We felt like we owned our own florist company!

My cousin, Heather, got us monogrammed bathrobes and she paid for us to get our hair and makeup done. It was such a nice day.

Mikey came to transport the bride from the hotel to the church and he had a cocktail ready to go! Wasn't she a beautiful bride!!

Here are some pics from the photographers blog.

After a wedding shower, a bachelor party, 2 bachelorette parties, 2 rehearsals, 2 rehearsal dinners and 2 weddings, we spent our last days in New York on the lake with family!

One of our last mornings, a bunch of us hiked up to the waterfall and took some pictures.

Mikey and I with both sets of newlyweds!

The girls

The guys

Our last night, Presley was arranging the guys on the dock for a picture. They were really just humoring her and didn't realize how beautiful the sunset was behind them and it turned out to be a great picture!!

The flight home wasn't quite as smooth. On our long flight, our seats were separated. I had Presley and Bentley all by myself. There was a bad storm in Dallas and our flight got diverted. Mikey got a cool picture of the clouds, but that was the only cool thing. We were supposed to fly in at 730pm and didn't get home until after 11pm.

Despite the long trip home, we had an amazing trip. We were so blessed to be able to spend so much time up there this summer. It made it so much harder to say goodbye and leave everyone. We are so blessed to have such a big amazing family. There were so many people taking pictures. I feel like I didn't get enough, but luckily I have some amazing memories!!

It was fun hearing from the rest of my family who they think my kids look like. A lot of people say that Bentley looks like my Mom's brother Scott and my cousin Ryan. Ryan sent me this picture after we got home.
