New York to remember Grandpa

We left Saturday morning after Thanksgiving to go up to New York to be with family and to remember Grandpa. Our flight was at 545am. Most people dread that early flight, but it is ideal for me and the girls. We seem to be up at all hours of the night anyway and the girls go right back to sleep on the plane. Since both girls were lap passengers, Kiley flew with Marmee and Mycah and Presley flew with me. Since we booked our tickets at the last minute, our seats were all over the place. Luckily Mom and Mycah were able to sit together with Kiley and Presley and I had our quiet time on the flights. Unfortunately, Mikey had to stay home and work. Thank goodness for my parents and Mycah to help with the girls. Both girls are AMAZING travelers. They did so well. When we arrived in New York it was FREEZING! We stayed inside the entire time we were there.

Despite the circumstances, it was so nice to be with family. Grandma's first time to meet Presley!

My Cousin's son, Kaleb, wanted to hold the baby. He is expecting a little sister in February, so he needed the practice. It didn't last very long....

We put a lot of pictures of Grandpa on the mantle.

The service was on Tuesday. Kiley helping sissy get ready.

The girls were pretty tired from all of the visitors.

Over 100 people came by the house to pay their respects to Grandpa.

It was so nice to spend time with everyone. In the summer, we are going, going, going and this was nice and relaxing to just sit around, talk and be with each other. The girls got sooo much attention from all of the family. Kiley knew she could go up to anyone and stick her arms up and someone would pick her up. They loved being held ALL THE TIME. It was a little hard to break that habit once we got back home. There is only one of me and two of them, so they both couldn't be held all the time. But it was worth it for them to get loved on by all of our wonderful loving family. We love you guys so much and miss you already.

The journey back home was quite an adventure. It started snowing the morning we were scheduled to leave. Dad drove the hour and a half in the snow on the Thruway. It was a little scary, but Dad did a great job. When we got to the Rochester airport, our flight was delayed. We missed our connecting flight out of Atlanta, but luckily by the time we got to Atlanta, they had us on the next flight. We had a nice dinner with Bruce and Lisa in the Atlanta airport and then we flew into Dallas around 1130pm. Even with the delays, we did not hear a peep out of the girls the entire day of traveling. No crying. I really mean it when I say they are amazing travelers. Thanks to Marmee, Guy and Mycah for helping with Kiley on the flights. And a special thanks to Uncle Bruce for trading seats with me so that I didn't have to nurse Presley in between two men! Instead we got to sit in the back of the plane with Aunt Lisa!

We love you all soooo much and we miss you Grandpa. We know you were looking down on us and listening to all of our great stories we had to tell throughout the week and we know you kept us safe on our travels.
