Memorial Weekend

We had a great 3 day weekend! Before I get into the weekend, I have to brag on my husband. He spent hours last week powerwashing the fence and it looks amazing! Look at the difference!

Mikey went to the Byron on Friday and we stayed in Friday night and watched movies. On Saturday, we went up to Frisco to Mikey's parents for a Memorial Day BBQ. It was really neat. They honored all of the Veterans in their community. Mikey's Dad fought in Vietnam, so we go to honor him also. It was so fun to attend. Sometimes we get caught up in the 3 day weekend celebrations and lose sight of what we are actually celebrating. Thank you to all of the men and women who have fought for our country!

On Sunday we had a pool party at our house. We had about 20+ people come over. We grilled hot dogs and hung by the pool all day. There were about 6 kids that came too. My how things have changed in just one year! Everyone had a great time. It was Kiley's first time to go swimming.

This is Kiley's first time in the pool. She loved standing in the water.

She loved floating. She was kicking her legs the whole time.

All of the girls enjoyed Kiley's float!

On Monday, Marmee and Guy came up and the 5 of us went up to the Baird for brisket. We hung by the pool and then ate a delicious dinner! It is so much fun to have Daddie home 3 whole days with no work! Happy Memorial Day!

May birthdays all in one week!

On Monday night we celebrated Mom/Marmee's Birthday at Times Ten Wine Cellar in Lakewood. We had a blast. Mom loved that it was on Prospect Street because that is the same street as my "born house". We met around 6pm and had some wine and cheese outside. Then we ordered in Scalini's pizza and went inside to eat. They had a live Jazz Band playing and they sang happy birthday to Mom. After dinner, they gave us a tour of the winery. They import the grapes from California and make all of the wine right there. We brought Angel Food Cake and Strawberries for dessert. It was a great night.

A toast to the Birthday Girl.

Mom is now in Napa celebrating, so our wine night was a great start to her birthday celebration!

On Tuesday night, I went to Cru in the Shops at Legacy with the girls to celebrate my friend Kelli's birthday. She just had Isabella on April 15th, so she was excited to get out with the girls. We had a great dinner and it was fun spending time with the girls. Unfortunately we did not take a picture, but we do have a picture of Daddie and Kiley playing on their date night.

On Wednesday night, we celebrated our Godson, Kyston's, 4th birthday. We missed his party on Saturday since we were at graduation, so we had a separate celebration with him. He came over to eat and swim before church.

Kyston loves his donuts.

On Friday, I went to dinner with the girls for Shannon's birthday. She and Mom share the same birthday. We went to Gloria's on Greenville for dinner and drinks. I had every intention of taking a picture and totally forgot. Daddie and Kiley had another date night. She helped him outside with his chores and they had a fun night together. Another cute picture of the them (and Buddy). They are definitely Father and Daughter, look at those smiles.

Daddie changing Kiley's diaper...it seriously isn't that bad.

On Sunday, we took Kiley to celebrate Stacey's nephew, Kyler's, 5th birthday.
It was at a park in Frisco. The weather was beautiful! The kids played with water guns and jumped in the bouncy house. There was plenty of sugar to give all of the kids energy! Here is a picture of Kyler after he blew out his candles.

Our friends Ashley & Eddie had their second son a month after Kiley was born. He is a cutie. This was their first time to meet.

Wow, that was a lot of celebrating! Happy Birthday Mom, Kelli, Kyston, Shannon and Kyler!

6 Months!

Kiley Lynne Baird was 6 months on Sunday. She is growing, growing, growing. I swear she wakes up every morning bigger! She is eating rice cereal, fruits and veggies in addition to her formula. She is a talker. Still no words, but she likes to tell stories. She loves to stand up in her bouncer and play. She has adjusted well to her crib and she loves taking naps in her swing. Her Bumbo is our favorite thing these days. We can take it anywhere and she sits right up in it. She is mesmerized by water fountains. She sits in her Bumbo on the porch and stares at the fountain every evening when Daddie gets home from work.

At her 4 month checkup, Dr. Nale said at 6 months she could start wearing sunscreen and go swimming. The pool is still a little cool for her, but we put sunscreen on her during our walk yesterday. She laughed when I put it on her. She is getting to be such a big girl. She is so relaxed in her stroller during our walk/runs. She likes it so much better when I run. She also likes when I hold her and do squats. who knew my child would be such a great trainer?

I know I always say this, but she really is such a good girl. She is so happy! We are very lucky and every day we can't wait to see what new things she will do. We don't go to her 6 month checkup until the 28th, so stay tuned to see what Dr. Nale has to say!

Mother's Day

As you know, this was my first Mother's Day. It was so perfect. After becomming a Mother, I have a whole new respect for Mothers everywhere and an appreciation for this very special day. Mikey and Kiley made it so special for me. We had a wonderful day with the family.

Mikey went and picked up some egg mcmuffins for breakfast. They were delicious. Then, they scheduled a mani/pedi for me on Sunday morning. We also gave Mom a mani/pedi and Connie a massage, so all of the girls went to get pampered while the boys prepared for the day.

First, I totally have to brag about my Mother's Day card. It was so precious. Mikey and Kiley made me a scrapbook card.

This was the first page after I opened it.

The next pages. Kiley did all of the posing for the pictures and Mikey helped her cut them out.

The last pages. It was the PERFECT card. I definitely shed a tear!

Mom, Dad and Mycah got me a couple presents. Of course they were wrapped so pretty! I got a baby food maker and storage containers, and an awesome 4 generation frame to put the picture of Nonie, Mom, Kiley and me in.

Kiley was a happy girl.

Everyone at the table enjoying the homemade sangria that Dad made.

The table set for lunch. The boys did a great job. Dad made a Mexican salad, Mikey made his famous hamburgers and Mike made baked beans and potato salad. It was all delicious.

The Moms playing Ladder Golf.

Kiley's was all decked out by the pool. The sun finally came out and it turned out to be a beautiful day!

Katie's Graduation

On Saturday morning, we left at 9am to go to Tyler for Aunt Katie's graduation. She received her Master of Science in Psychology from UT Tyler. She has now joined the other Baird women (Connie & me) with having her Master's. We are so proud of her!! We are going to get a picture of the three of us in our hoods, so stay tuned for that picture.

We went to Katie's apartment first to eat lunch. Kiley got a picture with Katie before she put her cap and gown on.

The stage was decorated very pretty. The graduation was in the auditorium. It was a lot smaller than our A&M graduations.

It was only an hour and a half long!

The graduate!!

Kiley didn't want to let go of Aunt Katie after their picture.

A family picture.

Mikey had to represent for the Aggies.

We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Frisco to celebrate.

Horse Races

On Friday night, we took Kiley to the horse races for the first time. We met some friends there. The weather was perfect. We sat at a table by the band for a while and then laid a blanket out in the grass and played with the little ones. Thanks Sara for sending the pics!

She had so much fun at the races.

Kiley's new BFFs

This week we were busy visiting Kiley's new BFF's. We are so excited that the girls are so close in age. We just know that they will be great friends and we are looking forward to many playdates with them!

Our friends, Jae & John Carpenter, welcomed Kai Jae Carpenter on March 25th. We took dinner over to them on Wednesday night. The girls looked adorable together!

Kiley was a little more interested in the TV than taking a picture.

The Daddy's were on baby duty while Jae and I got dinner ready.

John & Kai

I love this picture of Mikey and Kiley. She is just hangin with Dad.

On Friday, Kiley and I took lunch over to Kelli and Bella. Our friends, Kelli & Jason Trent, welcomed Isabella Jane Trent on April 15th. Here is adorable picture of the two girls.
