We left for Florida the Thursday before Spring Break. Unlike last year, there wasn't a drop of snow or ice on the ground. Thank goodness. We always wait until the end to board the flight so that we aren't sitting on the plane for an extra 30 minutes. As we were in line, we stopped in front of the cockpit, so I pointed it out to Bentley. As I was showing him, the pilots asked Bentley to come in! I was so caught off guard by what they were doing, the pictures didn't turn out great. If I could go back I would have recorded the whole thing.
Then they lowered the seat so he could sit in the pilot's seat! They let him push the button to start the plane and talk in the intercom. The pilots were so nice and it was such a neat experience for Bentley!
It was so fun seeing a plane ride through a 3 year old little boy's eyes.
Grampy picked us up at the airport and Bentley wanted to hold my hand the whole way to the condo. Sweet boy.
Our first full day on the beach! Grammy's finger is a bit in the way and Bentley wasn't having it.
He just needed some Mommy cuddles.
The kids were so excited to be back!
Daddie built a sand fort for the kids to play in!
Look at this hot thang...
The girls slept in Grammy and Grampy's room.
Saturday morning I went for a run and came down to the beach to take a couple of pictures of the kids and Daddie.
Shortly after the picture, Kiley acting off. As the day went on she started getting worse and worse. We ended up in Urgent Care that evening. She was running 104 temp and was diagnosed with an ear infection. Fun times to be on vacation with sick kids....
Once the antibiotics kicked in, she got back to normal pretty quickly and was back on the beach the next day.
This is one of the few pretty sunsets we had...
More beach pics! This day was pretty calm so the kids did a lot of swimming in the ocean and Daddie took them kayaking.
Bentley watching a movie one night. He seemed to be quite relaxed.
Our second pretty sunset!
Another morning run and more beach fun!
Presley organized her shells each night just like Grampy.
The next morning, we attempted some family beach pictures. The sky and ocean look beautiful, but it was windy and the kids did not like looking into the sun....
Cutie waiting for the sunset.
The next morning, Grammy, Grampy, Daddie and the kids all went for a ride on the neighbors boat. They were
supposed to stay in the Inter Coastal and just be gone for a couple of hours. They saw a lot of dolphins!
A couple of hours went by and they weren't home yet. Then I got a text from Mikey that said the boat broke and they were stuck in the middle of the ocean. They called for a tow boat and were waiting. I felt so helpless and was so worried. They waited for over 2 hours for the tow boat, so their 2 hour tour turned into over 5 hours! Mikey said the kids were so good. I took pictures of them being towed as they went by the condo.
I had lunch waiting for everyone when they got home and I was so relieved they were home safe. No more boat rides in the ocean!! This was the sunset that night. It was different but very cool looking.
You can see the moon above the palm tree.
The next day we played with friends on the beach. We made a turtle in the sand and the kids decorated it with shells.
Kiley warmed up to the beach a little more each day. By the last day she was running in the sand and putting her feet in the water!
This was how Bentley looked each day on the beach. Crack showing and covered in sand.
Mommy and Kiley
My and Presley's lunch that day.
That night, we had a big dinner with our friends and family! The girls were dancing.
And Bentley was enjoying the appetizers.
The kids table.
After dinner, the kids were acting silly and watching a movie.
Our last full day, we made a mermaid tale and covered it with shells. The kids went hunting for shells and then washed them off in the container of water and then decorated the mermaid.
Our last sunset in Naples.
It was another amazing Spring Break at the beach. This year we didn't go to the zoo. We spent all 11 days at the beach. We would wake up, eat breakfast, go down to the beach, swim in the pool, eat lunch, take a nap, go back down to the beach, swim in the pool, happy hour, sunset, dinner and bed...and it never got old.
