A Weekend of Celebration

Thanks to our parents, Mikey and I were able to continue our anniversary celebration this weekend. Marmee came to pick up Kiley Saturday morning and Mikey and I went and got a couples' massage. It was fabulous. After our massage, we went to get manicures. Then we went to brunch at Cantina Laredo. It was delicious! After brunch, we came home and watched two movies. It was abnormally cold on Saturday, so it was nice to sit by the fire and be lazy! We were well rested for our big night out!

On Saturday night, we had two 30th birthdays to celebrate. We started our night by meeting at Cafe San Miguel's on Henderson for Hilary's birthday dinner.

The boys sat on one end of the table and the girls on the other.

We have started a tradition where when each of us turns 30, we get her a special gift and we make her a scrapbook. It was Hilary's turn! We got her a dogeared necklace with a heart and a clover on it. Her actual birthday is on St. Patrick's Day, so we thought it was perfect!

Hilary and her scrapbook!

Lisa and Trisha looking at Hilary's scrapbook. Our parents go in on it and put some old pictures in it. It is a very special gift, but apparently Lisa and Trisha think it is quite funny ;-).

Happy Birthday Hilary! We had so much fun celebrating with you!

After dinner we went to Capitol Pub to celebrate our friend, Stacy's, 30th birthday. There were about 30 fo us and it was a fun birthday celebration! We had fun talking and catching up with everyone!

Happy Birthday Stacy!

So, now might be a good time to mention that the entire time we were out on Saturday night, it was snowing! Yes, it is March in Texas. The wind was blowing so hard and snow was going everywhere. It was like a blizzard. Luckily when we drove home, the roads were not frozen yet. When we woke up on Sunday morning, this is what we saw.

Our poor mailbox.

We got about 4 to 6 inches.

On Sunday morning, we battled the icy bridges and picked up Kiley. We spent some quality time catching up with her. It is so bittersweet when she is gone. It is nice to have the time with just the two of us, but we miss her so much. Mikey's parents and sister came over for the A&M game and then they stayed with Kiley while we went to the Star's Game. It was a fun night out and a perfect ending to our anniversary celebration. Thank you to our parents and sisters for taking care of Kiley so Mikey and I could have a wonderful weekend!
