Our Tour of Texas Stadium

On Monday, Preston, Hannah, Mikey, Kiley and I went on a tour of Texas Stadium. We had been to a game, but it was so cool to go all over the stadium and learn a lot of fun facts about how it was built and how BIG it is. The tour guide said that the Statue of Liberty can fit in the center of the field with the roof closed and the Titanic can fit in the stadium length wise.

Jerry Jones' Perch (JJ). We heard on the radio that when Jerry was traveling all over the world getting ideas for the stadium, he decided that his perch would be exactly where Julius Cesar used to sit in the Coliseum.

His family seats are the lighter gray seats in front of his perch and the the two small sections on either side.

The View from a Suite...you can request the windows to be open or closed. There are four levels of suites: The silver, the ring of honor, the star level, and a level down on the field.

This is inside the Cotton Bowl offices. The two teams that played that year and a replica of the trophy stay up until the game next year.

All of the college helmets are outside of the offices.

This is a picture of the Star that the Cowboys run under before they go out onto the field. There is a Miller Lite lounge on either side of the walkway where the fans cheer them on. The star lights up and there is smoke and stuff. We didn't get that special treatment.

They were charging to take pictures on the Star in the center of the field, so we went over to the end zone. Kiley on the helmet.

This is a storage room on the field level where they keep the extra turf. They have the end zones from the games played there, so they had the A&M end zone from the A&M Arkansas Game.

Our last stop was the Stadium Data Center. This may be boring to some people, but since I used to work in a data center, it was very interesting. Aww, I miss my times on the raised floor....
