The Smoky Mountains

Over the 4th of July, we took a road trip to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. This was the first road trip for the kids in the new truck. They each had their own screen and could watch their own movies. They were in heaven and so were we....complete silence from the kids and we could still listen to music while they watched movies.

Doesn't look too comfortable.

We stopped at a hotel in Memphis to break up the drive.

We see the mountains!

This is what the kids first saw as we pulled into the resort. It is a water park resort. It has two outdoor water parks and one indoor.

Time to checkin.

The place looks pretty cool!

Once we were checked in, the boys put their suits on and went straight to the indoor water park. They started by riding a wave! By the time we left, Bentley had it mastered!

Our first full day, we hit the outdoor water park. This is a wave pool and it feeds into a lazy river. It was Kiley's favorite. Mikey and the kids would go ride the rides and Kiley and I hung at the wave pool and lazy river.

I love when we share rooms with the kids when we are on vacation. They are so cute when the sleep....notice the pillow barrier in between them.

Another fun day!

Cousins arrived!!

Attempting a picture...

Family pic! Our condo was in the building in the background. We could stand out on the balconies and watch everyone go down the slides.

Doing some hula hooping.

We took a day off from the water parks to go hiking.

We had a bad storm one night.

Fun cousin time!

Normally I don't work out on vacation, but I did a running challenge over the summer. I ran 100 miles in the days that the kids were out of school. It just so happen that the gym was literally across the hall from our condo, so that made it easy.

Connect 4!

When Kiley wasn't in the water, this was her happy place. Dipping her feet in the waves and eating a snack.

The kids made their own aquariums in mason jars.

My attempt to get a 4th of July pic of the kids.

Sunbathing...

More games...

Another sibling pic...

More sunbathing...

Look at those freckles.

More cousin time...

Sunset pics!

We had such a fun time in the Smoky Mountains. The resort was amazing and so was the scenery. The kids loved all of the rides, especially when they got to ride them at 9pm at night. We enjoyed our time with family too!! Fortunately, we had an uneventful drive home.
