This year, Mom's birthday fell on Mother's Day. She always assumes that we are going to combine both occasions together so I wanted to surprise her this year. I called her assistant and asked her to coordinate a fake "birthday happy hour" and then we would show up and surprise her. She tried to get out of it all week. Poor Amy spent the whole week convincing her to go.
I made a reservation at The Rustic down by her office so she wouldn't get suspicious about the location. We all arrived about an hour before she was coming to get a table and a put out a few decorations. She was SO SURPRISED!!
