Spring Break 2014

We spent another Spring Break with Grammy and Grampy on the beautiful beaches of Naples, Florida. I think it took me a week to pack for all 5 of us. Bentley was ready to go!

I packed a big bag of snacks for each kid. It is only a 2.5 hour flight and then a 2 hour drive, but I always plan for the "what if" scenario. So the kids did not go hungry!

Daddie and the kids on the plane! Let's just say that the travel portion of our trip was utterly exhausting, both ways, and that is an understatement. Luckily, those were the only 2 stressful days of our trip and we enjoyed the other 8 days on the beach so it was well worth it!

This was our first sunset.

Breathtaking!

Beautiful!

Daddie and the girls in the pool!

The kids playing on the beach!

We made a big play circle out of seaweed.

It stayed the entire week!

This was Bentley's 1st time in the sand since he was only 5 weeks old last year. He took to it very well and loved playing in it.

Another Sunset

Daddie and Presley after a walk on the beach. Kiley loved taking long walks with Grampy to look for seashells.

The girls having a snack on the beach. Kiley did so much better in the sand this year. She actually enjoyed playing in the sand!

My little beach babe. She loved the beach as much as ever and could still play for hours.

My little beach boy!!

Bentley started standing up on his own on the beach. I really think the uneven surface escalated his time to walk. As soon as we got home, he was full blown walking!

Daddie taking the girls for a swim in the ocean!

Mommy got to swim too!

Kiley loved swimming in the ocean!

We could barely get Kiley to stand up for a family pic. Poor B was napping.

One afternoon after naps, the girls made a long sand castle.

We met a lot of friends on the beach this year. We hope they all come back next year!

We spent one morning at the zoo!

Bentley pointed and waved to all of the animals.

We had to get a picture with the giraffe for Marmee!

Mikey took the girls to the park one morning and I met them after my run.

One morning, it was too cold to go out to the beach, so we took the kids to the mall to run around and let out some energy.

They had fun on the indoor playground.

One of the neighbors gave Kiley a visor. We thought she looked like Marmee in it.

Grampy taught Presley how to listen to a seashell to hear the ocean. We were having lunch out on the balcony one day and we looked over and she was talking to the dolphin through the seashell. It was the cutest thing.

Then she would tell us what the dolphin said back.

The girls having their snack out on the beach one day after their nap.

The kids sitting on the balcony with Grammy waiting for the sunset.

Our last sunset.

Presley's last day on the beach.

Family picture in sunglasses!

Presley discovered the boogie board on our last day and had so much fun. She will be ready for it next year!

Mikey was paddle boarding and there were so many dolphins all around. I could not get a picture of him and the dolphins in the same shot, so I got one of him and one of the dolphin.

We saw so many dolphins as always, but this year we saw a few come in and chase fish into the shore. It was so neat. Mikey and I saw a couple kayaking one morning too!

Our flight home was later in the evening, so we left during nap time in hopes that the kids would sleep in the car. They did for a little while, but not long enough!

We fly into Ft. Lauderdale so that we can visit Uncle Bob and Aunt Kathy. We stopped when we flew into Florida, but we didn't take any pictures, so we were sure to take some on our way back through. The Atlantic Ocean was so blue that day!

The newest addition to the family. She was soooo adorable and very spoiled I am sure!

Aunt Kathy with the girls.

The whole gang.

It was a long and rough trip on the way home, but we made it home safe and that is what matters. Thanks to Marmee for taking us to the airport and to Guy for picking us up. Thanks to Grammy and Grampy for letting us stay with them for 10 days! All of Grammy's meals were delicious and the kids had so much fun playing with Grampy on the beach! We are so lucky to be able to spend our Spring Break in such a beautiful place!
