Bentley's Baptism

Bentley was baptized a couple of weekends ago!

Both of the girl's baptisms were a separate ceremony after Mass, but our new church does it during Mass. We walked in with the Priest and Deacon.

His actual baptism was in the middle of Mass.

Bentley didn't cry when the water was poured over him. He actually liked it and arched his back and almost dove in the water. That got a lot of laughs out of the congregation.

Grammy helped dry him off.

Still looking at the water.

Father Michael blessing him.

Grampy lit the candle.

He had so much to look at and was such a good boy!

Father Michael carried him to the front of the altar and presented him to the congregation as the "newest member of the church", and everyone cheered and clapped.

After the baptism, we had some people over to celebrate with us. We made chicken tortilla soup and a taco soup. We also had some chips and dips and beer and wine of course. These were the yummy desserts!

I printed a bunch of pictures of Bentley and hung them as decoration.

I finally took them down the day before Thanksgiving!

He had his eye on the presents!

Being silly with Daddie! He got to stay up past his bedtime since it was his party!!

Bentley's Baptism was such a special day. It was so neat to have him baptised during Mass. The entire Mass was centered around him. He received so many prayers and it was so neat having the music too! Then coming home to loving friends and family to celebrate with us was so special. A special day for a very special little boy!!

So I had to post this picture. While Mikey was getting ready for the party that morning, he decided to "dress" the girls. They thought it was the funniest thing.
