Riviera Maya 2012

Mikey and I were lucky enough to take a trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico for 7 days and 6 nights. It was a much needed trip, post heart surgery and pre baby number 3! The resort we stayed at was an Iberostar 5 star all inclusive resort and we were not disappointed. The room was huge, the service was amazing and the food was delicious!

Here are some pictures of our room!

A swing on the balcony!

A couch on the balcony!

Our view!

Our room service breakfast the first morning!

After breakfast, we took a bike ride around the entire resort (it was 5 resorts in 1). We are standing outside the front of our resort.

The fountain in front of our resort.

This is inside the mayan looking building that is in the background of the picture of us above. It was the lobby of one of the other resorts.

Mikey standing in one of the pools at the other resort. We needed a water/beer break!

Another pool. The swim up bar is under neath that water fall! Both of these resorts allowed kids.

We saw this peacock on our ride.

And then we came across these interesting creatures on our way out to the beach at one of the resorts.

We were told that they like to eat sugar. Look how their tails stick up. They kind of looked like racoons with long tails.

A nice, comfy hammock to relax in!

A close up of one of the creatures.

I bet Mikey that he couldn't jump up on this horse, so of course he had to prove me wrong. This was in front of the shopping center in our resort.

There was a guy out by our pool with this monkey and I had to take a picture of him for the girls. They love Monkeys!

Mikey took one of the Hobbie Cats for a ride and I tried to get a picture, but he was so far out, so it is kind of blurry. He went a few days and I went out with him on our last day. It was so beautiful and peaceful!

On our second night, we went to dinner at the Japanese place for Hibachi. It ended up being our favorite dinner!

One morning, I realized that we took all those pictures of the other resorts, but hadn't taken any of ours. After I went to the gym, I took these pictures of our pool.

The sun wasn't quite over the pool, so it looks a little dark. The pool was so big and it was an infiniti pool overlooking the ocean.

On our 3rd night, we met on a balcony of the resort to celebrate one of our friend's birthdays. Some of us girls!

A picture of Mikey and I.

And a silly belly shot with the boys!

This is the cabana we laid in all day every day! Our biggest decision of the day was whether to lay by the pool or the beach. It was wonderful!

Our last full day, Mikey played a little golf game by the pool and no he didn't win! He did get to play two real rounds of golf while we were there and he said the course was very pretty.

Like I said earlier, the service was great and everyone that worked at the resort was so nice. We asked this guy to take a picture for us and he came up and stood by me for the picture. It was so funny!

Then he actually took one for us. The ocean is behind us, but you can't see it.

This was a mural on the ceiling right outside of our room. It was so pretty!

These are a couple of pictures we took before dinner on our last night. It was a little boat outside of our room.

We had a date night at the Surf and Turf restaurant.

We had a wonderful time on our vacation and would definitely recommend the resort! We had some much needed relaxation, but we were definitely ready to come home and see the girls. It was just the right amount of time. A special thanks to Grammy & Grampy and Marmee and Guy for taking care of the girls while we were gone! With Bentley coming in February, it will probably be a while before we can do something like this again!
