Memorial Weekend 2012

So, I do realize that I am not blogging as much as I am used to. I realized recently, that the reason for this is because I have not been taking pictures. I recently got a new phone and have vowed to jump back on the bandwagon of picture taking and blogging! In saying that, my picture taking didn't actually start until Sunday :-). We had a wonderful Memorial Weekend. On Friday, our college friends, Eric and Melissa came to stay with us. They got in late Friday and spent the night so that they could see the girls in the morning. We had so much fun talking and made a delicious breakfast on Saturday morning before they left. On Saturday, I took Buddy to the spa. He looks so handsome and even has a memorial day bandana!
On Saturday evening, we went over to some friend's house. I met a wonderful woman named Jeffie at the gym a couple of months ago. We totally hit it off right away. Within 5 minutes of talking, we realized we were both mothers of kids with special needs and her oldest had Kiley's same teacher. Since then, we have had a couple of play dates and really gotten to know each other while working out. We finally found a time for our husbands to meet. Jeffie and her husband, Chris, had all of us over for a BBQ. They have 3 boys, Noah, Sam and Elijah (Eli). We had a wonderful dinner and a lot of good talking and sharing stories while the kiddos ate and played. It has been such a blessing for them to come into our life and it is really great to talk to people who REALLY know what we are going through. Mikey and I are so lucky to have such an amazing support system with our family and friends, and Jeffie and Chris are a great addition! On Sunday, we made breakfast and then put the girls down for an early nap to get ready for a day at the lake! The girls had their lunch as soon as they got on the boat!
They were chip eating maniacs!
Presley wanted to lay out with Mommy!
Grammy and Kiley fed the ducks.
Kiley was dancing while Daddie was resting.
We filled the girls pool up for them to swim on the boat. They had so much fun! After the lake, we went to Grammy and Grampy's house for dinner. They made burgers and beans. It was delicious! Happy Memorial Day to Grampy who is a Navy veteran. We love you Grampy!
Monday morning the girls played in the driveway before it got too hot. Our neighbors took the girls on a golf cart ride. Miranda is driving and her sister, Presley, is in the front seat. They live a couple streets over. They loved it!
Daddie shared ice pops with the girls before lunch. Presley loved them. Kiley wasn't too sure about the coldness.
After naps, our neighbor's, The Cliftons, invited us over for a swim. Their pool is beautiful. It sure made us miss our pool!
Andy and Amy have two daughters also, Adlee is 4 and Braelyn just turned 2.
All week, we had been planning a cookout with our next door neighbors, The Henry's. Mikey smoked a brisket and Daniel grilled steaks. Everything was delicious! Daniel and Laurie have 3 daughters: Cassidy (16), Colbi (13) and Carli (9). They are the sweetest girls. Kiley and Presley are in love with them!
We had such a fun weekend and are loving our new neighborhood. As you can see, the girls dominate!! Thank you to all of the soliers who have fought our are fighting for our country. Happy Memorial Day 2012.
