Presley turned one month old while we were in St. Thomas, so that is why my blog is a little late. I cannot believe a month has already gone by! She has been such a good baby. She is a great eater. She is still eating every 2-3 hours and she is growing like crazy. At her 5 day checkup, she weighed 7lbs 4 oz (25%), she was 20 2/8 inches long (50%) and her head was 14 3/16 inches round (50%). She was already a lot bigger than Kiley at birth and she is growing fast! She has the biggest blue eyes and they are getting lighter by the day. When she is awake, she is so alert and wide-eyed!
When she turned 3 weeks, she started having a crying spell each night anywhere between 8pm and 12am and it would last a couple of hours. I was so scared that it was colic. It lasted a little over a week...thank goodness. When we were in St. Thomas, we tried a few things, including the mobey wrap during her "breakdown" time and the routine was broken! Mikey and I have nicknamed her "squeeker". All of her noises are very squeeky, whether she is stretching, crying, sleeping, or just making noises. Also in St. Thomas, she began to smile and coo. She hasn't done it since we have been home, hopefully it wasn't just because she was in paradise!
Nights are getting better. I am letting her go 4-5 hours straight without waking her to eat. It helps me get more sleep and she is also going back to sleep pretty quickly! In the next week, I am going to attempt to start the Babywise Routine that we did with Kiley. The big challenge with Presley will be to get her on a 3 hour feeding routine because she is always hungry. In the meantime, we will continue to work on her wake and sleep times.
