We took a family road trip up to Lake of the Ozark's in Missouri to visit Uncle Bob and Aunt Kathy! The drive was about 9 hours. This is by far the longest road trip we have ever attempted. I packed a big bin of toys to put between the girl's carseats to keep them busy. They did soooo great!
Kiley in the car on the way there!
Presley with her lovey and her bracelets watching a movie.
On the way up, we stopped in Joplin to see the tornado damage.
That tall building on the left was what was left of a hospital. The two houses in the picture were newly rebuilt.
It was so surreal driving through the neighborhoods. Usually tornado damage hits one street and then skips over another, but this one wiped out all of the houses in the neighborhoods.
This is a closeup of the hospital (and Mikey's face).
The stone structure with the flag is all that was left of the high school. It was so devastating to see. We said several prayers for all of the families of Joplin and could already see efforts of rebuilding all over the town.
Naptime!
They really didn't sleep as much as we thought they would considering we left the house at 430am!
The girls helping Aunt Kathy eat her breakfast!
Kathy gets a kiss from Presley....
And a kiss from Kiley!
The girls sure are living the life at the lake with their sunglasses and their yogurt!
Daddie took Presley for a ride on the waverunner!
...she fell asleep! You can tell she just woke up in this picture.
Now it is Kiley's turn! She loved driving the waverunner and could not get enough of it!
Kiley and Aunt Kathy playing before bed one night.
And Presley playing with her purse and her baby!
We took a few family rides on the waverunner!
All of the rides with Kiley driving of course! This was by far Kiley's favorite thing and Presley could have cared less. It was so funny!
The first night for dinner, Aunt Kathy made her specialty, Chili Mac. The second night we had pizza for dinner (Bentley's favorite).
One day, Daddie's friend, Nikki, and her parents came over to visit and then took us for a ride on their boat.
Daddie got to drive!
The girls!
Kiley got to drive too!
The girls and Daddie!
Nikki's Mom took the girls in the cabin to play!
They had so much fun wrestling around and throwing the pillows and looking in the mirrors...all on a boat!!!
The 3rd night, Mikey and I cooked a delicious steak dinner for Bob and Kathy. On the last night, Bob and Kathy took us to dinner on the boat! Kiley helped Bob drive the boat.
Presley on the boat ride...the girls lived in their life jackets the whole time we were there!
Presley helping drive too!
We drove back to the house after dinner in the moonlight. It was so quiet and relaxing. Even Kiley got relaxed!
Enjoying the ride!
A picture of Mikey and Kathy. It came out dark, but the sunset in the background is so pretty!
This is a cute picture of Mikey on the front of the boat with the girls. You can see the moon.
The entire time we were there, we had perfect weather. It was in the 80's during the day and the 60's at night. We literally spent day and night outside. The girls loved it!
We cannot thank Bob and Kathy enough for their wonderful hospitality and for letting us come stay with them in their beautiful home. The girls were so good in the car and at the lake. We cannot wait to come back!
