Palm Springs!

Earlier this month, Mikey and I took an amazing trip to Palm Springs, California. I was so proud of him for making this trip. The contest is a summer contest and his assistant was out on maternity leave for 2 of the 3 months. He worked so hard this summer, and I was so proud of him! This was the first trip in over 4 years that I was not pregnant, nursing, or with the girls. I was looking forward to a very relaxing trip of doing absolutely NOTHING, and that is what I got.

I really didn't know too much about Palm Springs except that it was in the desert and was a golf destination. Mikey is loving playing golf and he has his score back down, so he was super excited to play golf on our trip. I told him he could play as much golf as he wanted as long as I got to go to the spa and lay by the pool! Marriage is all about compromise, right?

We flew out on a Thursday. I felt so empty handed with out two kids, car seats, strollers, and a diaper bag when we left for the airport. I had a feel I was going to constantly be feeling like something was missing, but I was super excited! We got to the airport and went and had a quiet sit down lunch. We boarded the plane and enjoyed a nice quiet plane ride of doing what we wanted to do! We landed at about 2pm, and the Palm Springs airport was so cute. It was very small and open air! We were staying at a Resort/Country club called Ranchos Las Palmas in Rancho Mirage. We highly recommend it! This is the view from our balcony. We were on the 6th green which I quickly learned is the equivalent to an Ocean View for me. Mikey was in heaven.

The Ranger Game was already in progress, so we quickly found a sports bar in the resort to watch it. This place was gorgeous!

After traveling and cheering on the Ranger's, we were pretty tired. We decided to go back to the room and order room service for dinner. The next morning, we woke up at 430am because of the time change. We laid in bed for a while and then finally decided to open the curtains and take a look outside. We saw the sunrise and it was gorgeous!

Since we were up so early, I decided I may as well go for a run. I ran through the golf course and stopped to take this picture. I could not believe the view!

I should also mention that the reason it is a golf destination is because there is literally pretty much no rain there. I think we heard that they get 3 inches of rain a year! The weather is very hot in the summer. When we were there, it got up around 100 degrees each day, but the cool thing is that it gets down in the 60's at night. Absolutely gorgeous!

The first morning, Mikey had his sales idea meeting and I had the spouse's breakfast. Since Mikey didn't golf that day, we decided to meet down at the pool. We spent the day by the pool. They also had a mini water park and lazy river called Splashtopia. So much fun! That night, we all went to dinner in Palm Springs as a big group. We had a delicious steak dinner.

The next morning, we slept in a little later, but Mikey was up and ready to play golf. He took his putter down on the green outside of our room to get some practice putts in. Mikey played golf at 1230pm, so I scheduled my spa day for the same time.

I met my friend, Sara, over at the spa at noon. We had lunch by the pool and then got a massage and facial. We finished the day off in the jacuzzi and then had a cocktail by the pool. It was such a fun day and just what I needed! Mikey took this picture of me on the last day. It is the spa pool.

I spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool. When Mikey got back from playing golf, we got ready and met people up at a bar to watch the Rangers. After the game, we went over to a sushi restaurant. This is the night the Ranger's won and advanced to the world series, so we had to celebrate!

The next morning, Mikey played golf. I decided to go to the adult pool and read a book. The adult pool is the one in the background of this picture. They had spa like music playing by it and it was very relaxing and quiet.

When Mikey came by the pool, they stopped and said Hi.

After Mikey got done playing golf, we hung out by the pool. We went up to the room and got ready for our farewell dinner with the agency. All of the food was so good and the view was amazing! The next morning we woke up and realized that we had hardly taken any pictures, so we walked around the resort and got some pretty pictures. The entire time we were there, I could not get over the mountains. They were unlike anything I had ever seen. They didn't have trees or snow on them, and they just seemed fake.

Mikey, Brandon and I went over to the pro shop to get some souvenirs.

This trip was so much fun and one of our favorites. Thank you so much to my wonderful hard working husband who made it all possible. It is just what I needed to recharge my batteries and come back home to be a good wife and mother. Love you!
