27 Weeks!

Last Thursday, I was 27 weeks along with Presley. She is getting more and more active, but she is still very stubborn. The second that someone puts their hand on my belly to feel her, she stops moving. She is a smart little girl already. It has already been in the 100's here in Texas. The heat takes a lot out of me. I have been spending a lot of time in the pool. It helps keep me cool and takes some of this extra weight off of my feet! Mikey, Kiley and I take a swim before bed in the evenings. It is very relaxing.

I am still having awful back pain at night, but the heating pad seems to really help. My acid reflux is starting to make an appearance, so I keep Tums on my nightstand. Kiley has been sleeping through the night again, so I have been getting more rest, thank goodness! Speaking of Ms. Kiley, she did not want to hold the numbers this time, so Mommy had to do it.

I went to the doctor last Monday for a checkup and my diabetes screening. My weight and blood pressure were good. My stomach measured a little small, so we did our first growth screen. According to the sonogram, her growth is on track, so that was good news. At 28 weeks, I am officially in my 3rd trimester, so my appointments are every 2 weeks now. I will get a growth screen at my next two appointments.

I received my results back from my diabetes screening and I do not have gestational diabetes, but I am slight anemic, so I am on iron medication. I am hoping the iron will help boost my energy!

Baby Center Update says: This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
